Blake entered this world in Ada, OK, and in his teens had already authored his first songs. He took guitar lessons from his uncle. After graduation from high school, the young man moved to Nashville to pursue the career of a full-time country singer.

His mother ran a beauty salon, and his father was a car dealer. He lost his older brother Richie in a car crash, when the latter one was 24 and Blake was 14.

In the early 2000s, he had an unusual pet – a turkey, which died in 2003 after a heart attack.
In 2021 Blake became the best coach on the show “Voice” again. Cam Anthony, the performer from his team, became the winner. It was Blake’s 8th victory. Shelton is ranked as the best coach in the show’s history.
