Terry Kinney (ex-husband; were married in 1984-1988)

In the 1980s-1990s there was no man in the world, who didn’t admire Elizabeth Perkins, the beautiful actress, known by such films and TV shows as “Big”, “Miracle on 34th Street”, “How to Get Away with Murder”, “Monk” etc.

As much as many men loved Elizabeth Perkins, they couldn’t get a single chance to be with her as she was married. She met the actor and theatre director in 1982 and they immediately fell in love. Elizabeth worked with Terry’s theater company “Steppenwolf”. They spent a lot of time together at the theater and then went to the restaurant or cinema after a long working day. Then, Terry popped the question, and they got engaged. On March 27, 1984, Elizabeth became Mrs. Kinney. Their marriage lasted for 4 years. It’s hard to tell now, what went wrong, but in 1988 they divorced.

Nowadays, Terry Kinney has a wide circle of fans as the Steppenwolf founding member. He is mostly known as a theater actor, who starred in such productions as “The Grapes of Wrath” and “Orphans”. He gained popularity as a TV actor too, having starred in the prison drama “Oz”, produced by HBO. On the show, he portrayed Tim McManus, the Emerald City creator.

In 1993 Terry married the OZ colleague Kathryn Erbe, who is known for such TV projects as “The Sinner”, “Instinct”, “The Good Fight” etc. They parented a daughter Maeve in 1995 and a son Carson in 2003. Two years later the couple divorced.

Maurice Phillips (daughter’s father)

Elizabeth has never been married officially, but we have to mention him among the members of her family as he is the father of her only biological child Hannah Jo Phillips.

Perkins met Maurice Phillips at the set of the comedy “Enid Is Sleeping”, where she portrayed the lead female heroine and he was a director. They started dating, and then Elizabeth got pregnant. In September 1991 she and Maurice became the parents of a beautiful baby girl Hannah. Perkins and Phillips parted their ways the year after Hannah’s birth.

Maurice David Phillips was born in · Hackney, London, England, but then he moved to the USA, where he gained popularity as an actor and film director. He stands behind such great films and TV shows as “The American Way”, “Poirot”, and “Afterlife” etc.

He passed away in his New York house in 2012.

Julio Macat (husband since 2000)

In her interviews, Elizabeth never gets tired of telling that she is married to an “amazing person”. Her marriage, which has been lasting since June 2000, seems almost ideal. It is so untypical for Hollywood.

She met a cinematographer Julio Macat at the “Miracle on 34th St” set. They say he loved Perkins at first sight. They were immediately involved in a whirlwind romance, which continued with engagement and then the wedding. Elizabeth and Julio share their time between luxurious houses in Sherman Oaks, CA, and Shelburne Falls, MA. Elizabeth became a great stepmother to Julio’s three sons, Maximillian Macat, Alexander Macat, and Andreas Macat, from his previous relationships.

Julio Guillermo Macat was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was raised in the USA, where his parents, Yolanda and Julio Sr Macat, moved when the boy has just turned 14.

He studied filmmaking at UCLA School of Theater and then worked on several films, directed by Andrey Konchalovskiy, including “Runaway Train” with Eric Roberts and Jon Voight. Then, he continued his career as a cinematographer for such box office hits as “Home Alone” (both parts), “The Wedding Planner”, “The Nutty Professor” etc. Besides, Julio worked on many music videos for famous performers like Van Halen, Alanis Morrisette, etc, and created lots of commercials.

Perkins devotes lots of Instagram posts to her beloved husband. No doubt, she is the queen of his heart.

Hannah Jo Phillips (daughter)

Elizabeth’s daughter, Hannah Jo Phillips, is her main love and inspiration.

Hannah resides in Portland, Oregon, with her husband Morgan Pepper, two years her senior. He is a Pitzer College graduate. Morgan is a financial specialist and owner of Main Street Community Partnerships. They got married in June 2021.

Elizabeth’s daughter is socially active. Her activity is connected with media and PR relations. Previously, she was trained at Geena Davis Institute, an organization, targeted to create the gender balance in the entertainment industry. Besides, she studied at USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Mrs. Perkins-Macat has three stepsons – the kids of her husband Julio from his previous marriage to an actress and singer Sandra Macat. Max is one of them. The thirty-something man resides in Los Angeles. Like his father, Max is a cameraman.

Elizabeth has already lost both her parents. But she writes on social media, that she misses them every single day. Although her parents separated, when she was a little girl, the actress maintained a strong connection with her dad and his new wife Maggie.

James Nicholas Perkins was the son of Nicholas Pisperikos and Lucia Tegu, Greek immigrants. They settled in Littleton, NH, and founded the Perkins Motel. James was a businessman, farmer, and writer. With Jo, Elizabeth’s mother, he had three daughters, including Elizabeth.

Nowadays, the actress never gets tired to thank her father for everything he did for her. He taught her that the word “no” hasn’t any strength. Till now, Perkins has a close bond with the Greek part of her family.

Jo Milton Williams (mother)

Several years ago Elizabeth lost her mother, but till now she is inspired by her mom’s strength and wisdom. Jo Milton Williams was a daughter of George Thurlow Milton and his wife Grace Milton and spent the major part of her life in Massachusetts. She was educated at Northhampton School for Girls. Then she studied at North Carolina State University. Her professional activity was connected with medicine. For many years she worked as a counselor for Alcoholism Treatment Center.

Jo was married to James Perkins for several years and had three daughters (including Elizabeth) with him. After their divorce, she married another man with 8 kids. They moved from Queens, New York to the 600-acre farm, where Perkins grew up.

In her interview with “Guardian” Elizabeth confessed, that she missed her mom after living at home, but then noticed that the woman, who was in her 50s then, has blossomed into an extremely stunning middle-aged woman. Perkins inherited her creativity from her mother, who was a great pianist, too.

Jo passed away peacefully and unexpectedly, leaving her children and grandchildren missing her.
