With Grayson’s mother, Eric attends various sports events, where they share Grayson’s life story and his mental health struggles. Eric and his late son Grayson shared a close bond. They had a warm conversation several weeks before the golfer’s suicide. During that conversation, Grayson confessed, that he “didn’t want to be here”. Eric has always been a doting father to his son. He knew about Grayson’s mental health problems.

Eric Bruce Murray grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina. He studied at William G. Enloe High School. Eric has a brother Fred and a sister Virginia. He earns his living as a Tarheel Golf Foundation director. The great golfer, it was Eric, who initially taught Grayson to play golf. At weekends, supervised by his father, Grayson used to compete at various golf tournaments.

Terry Watkins Murray (mother)

Grayson’s fans know Terry’s face rather well. She appears at various sports and charity events to continue her late son’s great deeds and to protect his memory.

Terry Watkins Murray was born and raised in the family of Elaine Cameron (who passed away in 2021) and John Watkins. Her mother was a successful lawyer, who served at Carolina Power & Light. Terry’s mother was the Mrs. NC State Pageant winner in 1982. Terry grew up in a happy and friendly family, surrounded by loving parents. Besides she was blessed with a brother John Watkins III, with whom till now the golfer’s mother maintains friendly relationships.

Terry’s life has never been a bed of roses. In one of his Instagram posts, Grayson confessed that his mom was involved in a terrible car accident when the unknown driver of an auto pulling a trailer forgot to use his emergency brake. That driver crushed the golfer’s mother between his vehicle and Mrs. Murray’s minivan. After that Terry appeared in her hell, full of pain, numerous operations, and the possibility to lose two legs. Fortunately, doctors saved her legs. Till now Mrs. Murray has had some pain while walking, but she never complains of any discomfort.

Terry used to attend the golf matches her son participated in. Now she appears at numerous charity events to honor Grayson’s memory. She is the head of the Grayson Murray Foundation. Besides, the woman sells handmade wreaths on Etsy.

Cameron Murray (older brother)

His older brother’s name is Eric Cameron Murray, he is called just as Cameron in the family circle, not to be mixed up with his dad. Cameron is a long-term Raleigh resident. He is single and doesn’t have any kids.

A few days after Grayson’s passing, Cameron shared a heartfelt post on Facebook, where he expressed how deeply he missed his late brother.

Erica Murray Robinson (older sister)

Grayson was fortunate to have just one big sister, and they shared a close and special bond. Her name is Erica. Being a very smart girl, she graduated from North Carolina State University with a Master’s degree in Geographic and Cartography.

Nowadays, Erica resides in Durham, NC. She is married to Brian Robinson. They parented two cute boys: Dylan and Caleb. Grayson was very close with his nephews. He couldn’t spend a day without talking to the boys through FaceTime.

Erica was very proud of her brother’s career achievements and appreciated his kind heart when he coached small promising golfers. Like other members of the Murray family, Erica continues loving her brother.
