Katy Elizabeth Mixon was brought into the world on a warm spring day in 1981. She grew up in a big friendly family. The actress has six siblings.

In her childhood years, Katy was a vivid active girl, who enjoyed her sunny happy life in Florida. One of her hobbies was surfing. Mixon liked her home city, but at the same time she knew, that she wouldn’t be able to spend her whole life there. The reason was her dream to become a professional actress. To refine her natural acting skills, she moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and passed an exam to the prestigious Carnegie Mellon School of Drama. There, she was prepared for her future television and theater work.
